In August 2012, National Instruments introduced two spectrum analysers.
Features and USP: The PXIe-5644R vector signal transceiver (VST) is part of a new class of instrumentation that combines a vector signal generator and vector signal analyser (VSA) with FPGA based real time signal processing and control. This VST combines the fast measurement speeds and small form factor of a production test box with the flexibility and high performance of R&D grade box instruments. Hence, one can use this VST to test a variety of cellular and wireless standards, such as IEEE 802.11ac with an error vector magnitude that is better than -45 dB (0.5 per cent) at 5.8 GHz. In addition, it offers the flexibility to expand this VST’s small 3 slot 3U PXI Express form factor to support multiple input, multiple output (MIMO) configurations.
Also, its Phase Matrix 26.5 GHz vector signal analyser (VSA) combines a Phase Matrix microwave downconverter and the NI PXIe-5663E VSA to deliver RF and microwave vector signals and spectrum analysis from 10 MHz to 26.5 GHz to address RF and microwave test application needs from spectral
monitoring to wireless tests. With the PXI platform and the flexible NI LabVIEW programming environment, it seamlessly integrates additional RF and other mixed signal I/O instruments into the test system.
