March 13, 2015: Littelfuse Inc launched the SLD series of TVS diodes for automotive and high reliability applications. This AEC-Q101 qualified TVS diode is designed specifically to protect sensitive electronic equipment from voltage transients induced by load dump and other transient voltage events. It offers a 5000W (10/1000μs) or 2200W (load dump) peak pulse power dissipation rating in a standard P600 package. The SLD series’ combination of a compact design and superior electrical performance offers circuit designers the freedom to upgrade the circuit protection in their existing design footprint or provide more robust load dump protection for new projects. Applications for the SLD series of TVS diodes include DC power protection and ESD protection in automotive electronics like ECU, TCU, BCM, sensors and entertainment systems, as well as in other long pulse applications that require high reliability. The device meets international standards of the automotive industry, which makes it ideal for protecting sensitive automotive systems from load dump and other transient voltage events. It has a junction temperature (Tj) of up to 175° Celsius, which ensures maximum reliability in automotive and high reliability applications. The compact footprint of the industry standard P600 package allows quick and easy layout in high reliability applications.
