Electronic Connectors: The Top 10 companies in India

By Shweta Sengar

Home Splash—Leading PlayersFebruary 9, 2015: Electronic connectors are an important part of every electronic device, since every circuit is incomplete without a connector. Globally, connectors come in compact and sturdy designs today, and offer the highest level of efficiency. Most companies in this space are making connectors adhering to the latest technology. Due to the need for more durable products and the space crunch, compact connectors that deliver the same amount of power and efficiency as their bigger equivalents are increasingly in demand these days.

The same trend is being witnessed in India too, and with the government’s increasing push to the electronics manufacturing sector, the growth in the connectors segment is expected to be tremendous in the years to come. Many multinational companies are investing in India in this segment, which is expected to give a major boost to the industry.

While most of the companies listed in this article registered a growth in their revenue, the most significant change was in the performance of Amphenol, a leading connector brand for many years, which slipped to fourth position, while TE Connectivity clinched the top spot. Surprisingly, some major brands like Samtec Inc, Toyo Connectors, Vital Electrocomp, etc, did not make it to the Top 10 this time. Also, this survey marked the entry of Omron Electronics, which claimed the tenth spot.

Please note that the revenue figures of some of the companies are just a part of their total turnover in India, as commissions received on sales of their products overseas are not included in this figure, or because a part of their billing is not done in Indian rupees. The revenue figures and other information about most of the companies have been procured from the website of the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA), Government of India, and have been verified by the companies. Some figures have been provided by the companies themselves.
