Power efficiency is a fundamental characteristic of any switch mode power supply (SMPS), and its measure generally dictates the quality of the conversion device. Although, maximum efficiency is a prime consideration for all SMPSs, it is even more so for those found in portable devices, where battery life must be prolonged to offer consumers extended run time while using their gadgets. SMPS applications generally involve power adaptors, personal computers, televisions, battery chargers, etc. Let’s have a view of the latest SMPS in the market.
