Energy power meter
In May 2013, Netvox Technology Co Ltd launched a 7-channel Z-821 ZigBee multi-point CT type energy power meter. This wireless energy meter reading device is able to read the energy consumption of a whole house/office by measuring every sub-distribution. The energy consumed can be viewed on a tablet or via a mobile app, in real time. Its key features include a rated frequency of 50/60 Hz, a rated input of 100 to 240 VAC, and a wireless transmission of 2.4 GHz.

Flexible resolution oscilloscopes
In April 2013, Pico Technology launched the PicoScope 5000 series of scopes that have a different architecture, in which multiple high-resolution analogue-to-digital converters (ADCs) can be applied to the input channels in different series and parallel combinations to boost either the sampling rate or the resolution. The company has used reconfigurable ADC technology to offer a choice of resolutions from 8 to 16 bits in a single product. In the series mode, the ADCs are interleaved to provide 1 GS/s at 8 bits. Interleaving reduces the performance of the ADCs, but the result (60dB SFDR) is still much better than oscilloscopes that interleave 8-bit ADCs. This mode can also provide 500 MS/s at 12 bits resolution. In parallel mode, multiple ADCs are sampled in phase on each channel to increase the resolution and dynamic performance. The resolution is increased to 14 bits at 125 MS/s per channel (70dB SFDR). If only two channels are required, resolution can be increased to 15 bits, and in the single-channel mode all the ADCs are combined to give a 16-bit mode at 62.5 MS/s.
