HD IR cube IP cameras
In October 2013, Hikvision introduced its series of HD IR cube IP cameras. Both the 3MP DS-2CD2432F-I (W) and the 1.3MP DS-2CD2412F-I (W) IR cube network camera models are designed to safeguard homes, offices and stores. Cameras are embedded with a passive infrared (PIR) motion detection sensor that allows them to detect an individual within an 8-metre range and automatically trigger an alarm. The series also features a DI/DO interface for the users to connect to external audible and visual alarm devices. In the event of a break-in or unauthorised access, the alarm device is instantly activated to give a notification. The series has the latest 1/3 inch progressive scan CMOS, enhanced IR LEDs with up to 10 metres of IR range, and powerful image processing functionalities like DWDR, 3D DNR and BLC. It also offers WPS (Wi-Fi protection setup) connection.

Video door phones
In October 2013, CP Plus introduced advanced video door phones for security checks at villas and apartments. Villa video door phones (VDPs) are equipped with TFT LCD screens in 17.78cm and 10.9cm (7 inches and 4.3 inches) variants. These have a convenient two-way communication system, remote unlock functions and the ‘Do not disturb (DND)’ feature. These VDPs also have the intrusion alarm feature that alerts users of any threats. The high resolution colour camera of the outdoor unit, installed at the entry door, provides excellent night vision. The multi-apartment VDPs have a 17.78cm (7 inches) TFT capacitive touchscreen for wide viewing. The system offers three levels of security—at the main guard station, the tower lobby entrance and the individual flat’s entrance.

Network camera
In October 2013, Axis Communications introduced its bullet-style AXIS Q1765-LE network camera, which is specifically designed for use in harsh environments and tough climates with its 18x optical zoom and built-in infra-red LEDs. The AXIS Q1765-LE has built-in highly efficient automatically adaptive infra-red LEDs, which allow the camera to cover at least 15 metres (50 ft) at its widest field of view and up to 40 metres (130 ft) in full tele view. The built-in IR illumination is especially beneficial for installations that require around-the-clock surveillance without artificial lighting. The camera is used for monitoring entrances, exits and perimeters, and for pole mounting at parking lots or for other general city surveillance purposes.
