Indian consumer electronics company Micromax has announced that it is looking at strengthening LED television business in the next few years.
According to reports, the company is planning to boost its manufacturing capacity. As per the plans, Micromax would be reducing imported content and introducing new features and models to reach rural and semi-urban markets. If reports are to believed, the company is in talks with State governments, such as Telangana and Rajasthan and is chalking out measures to set-up two large factories for manufacturing mobile phones and LED TVs, besides other products. The company is also hoping to further trim imported content for its LEDs televisions.
In addition, Micromax also wants to tap into the rural and semi-urban demand for LEDs, and is looking to offer MHL (Mobile High-definition Link) and Bluetooth connectivity across its models. With MHL options, consumers can connect their devices like smartphones and tablets to their LED TVs. In the next few months, the company might make these features standard across all LED TV models.
