Flood light for adverse environments
In August 2013, GlacialLight launched the GL-FL180, a 175W AC-input LED flood light with Philips Lumileds LED chips. Built for adverse environments, the GL-FL180 features aluminium die-cast alloy housing, high-strength glass, stainless steel skid-proof screws and phase-change metal (PCM) thermal interface material (TIM). This combination of features makes the GL-FL180 ideal for high temperature, corrosive or high vibration environments like beaches, general factory sites or chemical factories. The GL-FL180 can accept a wide range of AC voltages—from 100 to 277 volts —and it is suitable for a variety of operating environments.

25W LED drivers
In August 2013, Recom Asia launched the RACD25 series of LED drivers. Thanks to their long, sleek shape, the 25W modules are ideally suitable as power sources when converting fluorescent lamps to modern LED technology. The drivers are optionally available with a constant output current of 500, 700, 1050 or 1400 mA and reach an efficiency of up to 85 per cent. With a wide input voltage range of 90 to 295 VAC they are ideally suited for use worldwide. To meet the requirements of EN61000-3-2 Class C, the modules are equipped with a standard active power correction, which also keeps the EMV load of the electricity grid low.

COB LEDs
In September 2013, Everlight Electronics Co Ltd expanded its high performance JU series of chip-on-board (COB) LEDs to include 7, 10 and 15W types in addition to the existing 4W version. COB LEDs are especially suited for directional applications that require a powerful single light source for effective illumination such as GU, MR and PAR retrofits, downlights and candelabras.
The JU series now consists of four JU1215 (15 x 12 x 1.6 mm) and one JU2024 (20 x 24 x 1.6mm) type/s with powers ranging from 4 watts to 15 watts. All types provide an efficacy of 110lm/W or more at 3000K CCT, a CRI of >80Ra and 25°C substrate temperature, and are available in versions ranging from ANSI bin 2,700 K to 6,500 K.
