Camera flash LED driver products
In October 2013, Micrel introduced two new high current camera flash LED driver products. The MIC2870 and MIC2871 are capable of driving one or two camera flash LEDs up to 1.5A with best-in-class efficiency and enhanced current accuracy. These devices are ideal for portable battery-operated applications including smartphones, camera phones, tablets, notebooks, digital still and video cameras. The MIC2870 operates over a 2.7V to 5.5V supply voltage range, and is capable of driving one or two LEDs up to 1.5 A. The MIC2871, on the other hand, operates over a 2.7V to 5.5V supply voltage range and is designed to drive a single LED up to 1.2 A. Both devices offer features such as low battery detect, output load disconnect, safety timer, over-voltage protection, LED short protection, flash inhibiter and thermal shutdown protection.

Floodlight solutions
In October 2013, GlacialLight introduced models with standard AC input, DC input and PIR sensors in its floodlight series. These cater to indoor and outdoor architectural lighting needs in commercial, industrial and residential environments. Special functions include solar-powered lighting and security-enhancing illumination. These LED floodlights consume far less energy than mercury floodlights with an average lifetime that is at least 10 times beyond that of traditional halogen lamps. They are long-lasting and have low maintenance costs, with features like high-strength glass, anti-corrosion surface treatment, aluminium die cast housing, corrosion-resistant stainless steel braces and skid-proof screws. Lights are available in two colour temperature options—warm white (3000K) and cool white (5700K).
