In July 2014, STMicroelectronics introduced the FDA2100LV, an automotive power amplifier that comes with full digital architecture, including digital input and a powerful diagnostics processor. It helps minimise noise issues and reduce bill-of-materials by up to 50 per cent, delivering the advantages of high efficiency class-D amplifiers for vehicle head units and sound boosters. It’s full digital amplifier architecture with built-in low-radiation function, floating digital core, anti-cross conduction, and slope control, minimises tuner interference, enhances cell phone immunity, and simplifies compliance with EN 55025, ISO 11452-2 (2004) as well as all other emission standards. In addition, ST’s patented and unique feedback-loop design around the output filter optimises system performance in terms of electromagnetic interference (EMI), harmonics distortion (THD) and frequency response.
