Under the leadership of this IIT Bombay alumni with over a decade of experience, Zypp Electric aims to leverage the latest technological advancements in the world of electric vehicles
India’s leading EV-as-a-service startup, Zypp Electric recently announced the appointment of Gajendra Arya as senior vice president of technology. The newly appointed will be responsible for driving the ‘technology & AI roadmap’ of the company. It is learnt that Zypp Electric is focusing on leadership expansion in order to build itself as the largest EV-as-a-service tech ecosystem in the country.
An alumnus of IIT Bombay (2005 batch), Gajendra Arya brings over 17 years of experience in building startups. The official note mentioned the names of companies such as CarDekho and Escrowpay, where Mr Arya worked as Senior Associate Director and CTO respectively.
The company, notably, plans to incorporate advanced automation processes, including an auto-pilot mode, preventive maintenance triggers, and autonomous roadmap for delivery and develop a well-rounded optimization system for efficiency and sustainability.
The co-founder and CEO of Zypp Electric, Akash Gupta remarked on the appointment, “Zypp Electric is thrilled to have Gajendra on board as our Senior VP of Technology. His vision and leadership experience will be vital in driving our technology strategy and achieving our business goals. Gajendra will especially work on our AI roadmap in last mile & EVs and will be instrumental in creating a robust global EV platform leveraging the latest tech innovations like ChatGPT, OpenAI & many others.”

Last November, Zypp Electric and Gogoro partnered with the aim to use battery swapping to push logistics fleets and last-mile deliveries to shift to electric vehicles.
Zypp Electric is India’s Leading tech-enabled EV-as-a-service platform, founded in 2017 with a ‘Mission Zero-Emission’ to decarbonize last-mile deliveries in India with an ecosystem of electric vehicles and EV-based technology. It recently raised $25 million in Series B led by Gogoro and a few other investors. It has also stepped into Bengaluru and aims to deploy 4 lakh e-scooters and expand to 30 cities by 2025.
