The Yogi government plans a 200-acre Electronics Manufacturing Cluster in Noida, with Havells India investing $8 billion, boosting tech production, growth, and jobs.
On Wednesday, the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (Yeida) announced plans to establish a significant electronic manufacturing cluster (EMC) on 200 acres in Sector 10, Uttar Pradesh.
Under the Centre’s Modified Electronics Manufacturing Clusters (EMC 2.0) scheme, this initiative aims to boost the state’s economy and job market significantly.
Arun Vir Singh, CEO of Yeida, highlighted the project’s potential to transform Uttar Pradesh into a leading electronics manufacturing hub. Yeida is set to obtain the necessary approvals and will engage at least five major companies to form a particular purpose vehicle (SPV) for the project’s implementation.
The first major tenant, Havells India, will be the anchor company, receiving 50 acres for its electronic goods manufacturing unit.
Havells, as the anchor company, will also lead the formation of the particular purpose vehicle (SPV) and is expected to begin its first phase of operations by 2026 with an investment of $8 billion, creating over 1,000 jobs.
Under the EMC 2.0 scheme, Yeida will receive significant financial assistance of $1.4 billion. This support will be used to set up common facility centres (CFCs) featuring research and testing labs, further enhancing the project’s potential.
This development marks a significant step in expanding Uttar Pradesh’s industrial capabilities and attracting critical players to the electronics sector.
