Xiaomi claims that the Mi Mix 3 will be world’s first smartphone with a 10GB RAM. It also features a retractable camera
Famous for Mi smartphones in India, Xiaomi today unveiled its latest premium flagship product, Mi MIX 3, in China. Followed by Mi Mix, Mix 2 and Mi Mix 2S, the Mi Mix 3 is the fourth smartphone handset in the Mi Mix series.
Lei Jun, Chairman and CEO of Xiaomi at the launch event revealed that Xiaomi Corporation expects its shipment of smartphones to exceed 100 million units by the end of October 2018, successfully reaching the full-year target set at its global core suppliers conference on 13 September 2017. Xiaomi will reach the target two months ahead of schedule, and it exceeds the unit shipment of 90 million in 2017.
Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 variants
The newest Mi smartphone launched in China will be available in three different variants namely Mi Mix 3 with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage, Mi Mix 3 with 8GB RAM and 128GB and a special addition special edition called Forbidden City Palace Museum Mi Mix 3 with 10GB RAM and 256GB.

Screen and OS
The smartphone sports a 6.39-inch AMOLED display with a screen resolution of 2340x1080p. Xiaomi has claimed that Mi Mix 3 will offer highest-screen to body ratio among flagship smartphones. Mi Mix 3 will come installed with Android 8.1 Oreo.
Camera
All the three variants of Mi Mix 3 sport two cameras set up at the back and two cameras set up at the front. The rear camera setup consists of two 12-megapixel sensors whereas the front camera setup features a 24 megapixel and a 2-megapixel sensor.
Xiaomi claims that the camera setup on Mi MIX 3 achieved a DxOMark photo score of 108 which ranks among the world’s best smartphones for photography.
Dedicated AI button
Xiaomi, for the first time has added a dedicated AI button at the left side of the Mi Mix 3. Users in China can wake the Xiao Ai voice assistant by holding the AI button and customise one-click and double-click to perform different functions.
10W wireless charger
Every Mi Mix 3 smartphone in China will be shipped with a 10W wireless charger that Xiaomi claims is 30 per cent more efficient when compared to its predecessor.
Mi Mix 3 price and availability
The Mi Mix 3 6GB RAM variant will be available at 3,299 yuan (Rs 34,700) while the Mi Mix 3 8GB RAM variant will cost 3,999 yuan (Rs 42,100) in China. Users will have to shell out 4,999 yuan (Rs 52,700) for the 10GB RAM variant of Mi Mix 3. All the three variants will be available for buying from First November 2018 in China.
Xiaomi has not clarified its plans of launching the Mi Mix 3 in India. However, the Chinese brand is thinking of introducing the smartphone in Europe soon.
