Indian software biggie Wipro has tied up with the University of Oulu in Finland to develop 5G technologies. In a statement the company said that its collaboration with Oulu will focus on wireless communications in 5G/6G at GHz, THz and light wave frequencies under the Finnish university’s flagship programme.
The memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed at the Wipro headquarters in Bangalore in the presence of delegates from the Finland ministry of economic affairs and employment, Finnish business corporations, University of Oulu and Wipro executives. K.R. Sanjiv, chief technology officer, Wipro said that the the collaboration will create technology pilots to address industry and customer needs, which have not been addressed so far.
Innovation corridor partnership between Finland and Karnataka
Finnish minister Timo Harakka said that the research partnership will lead to innovation and create a start for a beneficial cooperation between Finland and Wipro. He also said that this will take the collaboration will take the innovation corridor partnership between Finland and Karnataka to the next level. The University of Oulu is an international science university, which focuses on innovation for the future, wellbeing, and knowledge through research and education.
