Codenamed Electrik01, the bike is expected to target urban people who regularly travel a particular distance rather than long-distance travelers.
India’s renowned motorcycle brand, Royal Enfield, is ready to unleash its first electric motorcycle after much anticipation at the upcoming Esposizione Internazionale Ciclo Motociclo e Accessori (EICMA) in Milan. When the media requested the company provide further details, nothing valuable was confirmed officially.
Leaks and previous reports suggest that the bike would appear with a neo-retro design, combining classic vintage design with current technology features. The leaked photograph suggests the bike is highly expected to feature a round headlamp, alloy wheels, and a single seat, with the addition of a saree guard pointing to the possibility of a pillion option.
The classic electric bike is speculated to be furnished with a wide range of features, or else Royal Enfield does not believe in providing many features. As of now, the full-colour TFT on the Himalayan 450 is known to be the most sophisticated one. Features such as numerous riding modes, integration of the latest technology for its motor and battery, and traction control system could be available.
Codenamed Electrik01, the bike is expected to target urban people who travel regularly on a particular distance rather than long-distance travellers. Images also showcased that the new battery pack is located within the chassis to give a better feeling of weight. The new Electrik01 is being produced with a Spanish company, Stark Future SL. Experts claim this electric bike will be launched in a limited edition as the company intends to get detailed feedback before the wider launch. Moreover, cutting-edge components and a high battery will make this bike the most expensive by Royal Enfield.
