January 23, 2015: Welspun Renewables, one of India’s leading EPC company, dealing in solar and wind energy, has announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with government of Andhra Pradesh to set up 100MW solar PV plant in the state.
According to the company officials, the commitment was made during World Economic Forum’s (WEF) ‘AP Investment Session’. The project will be set up at an investment of Rs 700 crore and will see some world-class engineering and project development expertise.
Welspun Renewables, till date, has successfully commissioned more than 328MW capacity of solar PV projects on turnkey basis. Another 978MW of capacities are in construction, including both solar and wind.
The projects are under construction in five states in India. While the ones installed are located in Gujarat, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Punjab.
