Friday, October 18, 2013: New Delhi-based Welspun Energy Ltd has been given the Global Excellence Award in Renewable Energy 2013 at the 4th World Renewable Energy Technology Congress (WRETC).
While the company’s 55 (DC) MW Rajasthan solar PV power plant is so far the largest in the country, it has plans of commissioning 1.75 GW of solar photovoltaic (PV) and wind projects. Its solar PV plant was also the fastest executed solar PV power plant of this scale, the company claims.

According to a Solar Server report, Welspun Energy won one of the world’s largest solar power projects at 151 (DC) MW in the state of Madhya Pradesh and plans to commission it within 2013. The 5.5 MW PV project in Andhra Pradesh generated a high CUF per cent of 22.3 per cent.
