- Waaree Inks Three-Year Agreement with Acciona to Provide an Extra 1.5 GW of Solar Modules for U.S. Projects Until 2026
- The company’s 2023 U.S. solar module supply exceeds 4 GW
Waaree Energies Limited has announced its successful delivery of 850 MW of solar Photovoltaic (PV) modules for ongoing projects in the United States led by Acciona Energia, a renowned Spanish renewable energy leader with a portfolio exceeding 1 GW encompassing solar, wind, and large-scale energy storage projects in the U.S. The two companies have also revealed a three-year agreement, solidifying the company’s significant presence in the U.S. market. The company will continue to supply an additional 1.5 GW of solar modules to Acciona for forthcoming U.S. projects from 2024 to 2026. The contribution of 850 MW of solar PV modules included their advanced monocrystalline passivated emitter and rear cell panels, which were integrated into four major solar projects: a 56 MW installation in Fort Bend, Texas; 129 MW in High Point, Illinois; 288 MW in Union, Ohio; and a substantial 375 MW in the Red-Tailed Hawk Solar project in Texas. This achievement marks a significant milestone, with Waaree delivering more than 4 GW of solar modules to clients in the United States in 2023.
The company’s exceptional performance is underscored by its delivery of the modules four weeks ahead of schedule, enabling Acciona to meet its project deadlines for commercial operation. Demonstrating their unwavering commitment to product quality and performance, the solar modules supplied for these projects underwent rigorous internal and third-party quality testing. Under the three-year supply agreement, the company will continue to provide Acciona with an additional 1.5 GW of its high-performance N Type TOPCON modules for Acciona’s U.S. projects from 2024 to 2026. Out of the total 2.34 GW of ordered modules, Waaree Energies has already fulfilled an impressive 850 MW.
Sunil Rathi, Director of Sales at Waaree Energies, India, expressed his delight: “We are thrilled to be a trusted partner to Acciona Energia. With successful deliveries of solar PV modules for projects such as High Point, Fort Bend, Union, and Red-Tailed Hawk, the company has established itself as one of the reliable solar module suppliers operating in the US market. At a time when the U.S. solar sector has faced supply chain challenges, it has showcased its ability to deliver reliable module supplies while demonstrating a commitment to maintaining product quality standards.

We look forward to continuing this successful journey with Waaree Energies as we strive to make significant contributions to the renewable energy landscape in the U.S.”
The U.S. solar market has witnessed remarkable growth, averaging 24% annually over the past decade, as the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) reported. This growth trajectory is expected to persist, with solar accounting for 45% of all new generating capacity in the first half of 2023. Furthermore, an analysis of government research by USA Facts indicates that the installation of solar PV systems in single-family homes in the U.S., currently at 4.4%, is projected to reach 15% by 2030.
