Solar Photovoltaic maker Waaree Energies has said that with the addition of a new factory in Gujarat, its manufacturing capacity has touched to 1,500 MW.
The first Waaree unit in Surat, Gujarat, which was established in 2007, has a capacity of 500 MW.
“Waaree has become India’s largest solar panel manufacturer with the launch of the 1,000 MW plant in Vapi, Gujarat, taking our total capacity to 1,500 MW,” company’s director Sunil Rathi said to Money Control. “With this new plant, we are looking at extending current product lines as well as expanding our presence in the country and internationally,” he added.
Till date, the company has manufactured over 1,700 MW of solar panels and commissioned over 500 MW of solar EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) in India.
