The XC40 Recharge E60 model comes equipped with features like an 8-speaker audio system, dual-zone climate control, a 12-inch digital driver display, and more.
Volvo has introduced a new single-motor variant of the XC40 Recharge, known as the E60, which is available on the Volvo India website under the name ‘Plus.’ This model is priced at Rs 54.95 lakh (ex-showroom, India) and sits below the dual-motor, all-wheel-drive XC40 Recharge E80 (Ultimate), which is priced at Rs 57.9 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The E60 variant, with its single motor mounted on the rear axle, lacks some features found in the dual-motor version, such as Pixel LED headlights, fog lights, a 360-degree camera, and a Harman Kardon sound system. However, it is equipped with an array of features, including an 8-speaker sound system, dual-zone climate control, a 12-inch digital driver’s display, a 9-inch infotainment unit, a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), park assist, 19-inch alloy wheels, a panoramic sunroof, power front seats, and wireless phone charging, among others. As expected from a Volvo, the E60 variant also comes with a comprehensive suite of safety features, including 7 airbags and an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) that offers lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, cross-traffic alerts, and rear collision warning.
In terms of performance, the Volvo XC40 Recharge E60’s single motor produces 238hp and 420Nm of torque, enabling the SUV to accelerate from 0 to 100kph in 7.3 seconds and reach a top speed limited to 180kph. The vehicle is powered by a 69kWh lithium-ion battery pack, offering a WLTP-certified range of 475km.
The Volvo XC40 Recharge E60 single motor competes with other rear-wheel-drive electric vehicles such as the recently launched BYD Seal Dynamic (priced at Rs 41 lakh) and Premium (priced at Rs 45.55 lakh), Hyundai Ioniq 5 (priced at Rs 45.95 lakh), and the Kia EV6 GT Line (priced at Rs 60.95 lakh).
