Leading consumer electronics and home appliances company Videocon on Tuesday unveiled its first ever Hybrid Solar Air Conditioner for the households and institutions in two different variants of one ton and 1.5 ton starting from Rs. 99,000.
With the launch of this eco- friendly AC range, Videocon aims to capture 13 percent of the AC market in India by end of FY 2017 from the current nine percent.
Redefining energy efficiency in consumer appliances and innovating in the renewable energy space, the Hybrid Solar AC by Videocon utilizes the energy from solar power to allow 100 percent power savings in contrast to the energy guzzling conventional ACs. However, if ever required it automatically shifts to regular electricity supply.
“It is imperative for the brands to innovate in the direction of utilizing more and more renewable sources of energy, and with the launch of Solar Hybrid AC, we feel contended. With the ability to be operated with naturally obtained energy, Solar Hybrid AC is the future of Air Conditioner technology,” said Head of Technology and Innovation Videocon, Akshay Dhoot.
The Solar Hybrid AC by Videocon draws power from solar panel that convert the solar energy into electrical energy. It runs efficiently in all climatic conditions with minimal maintenance cost.
It reduces load on the grid making it power efficient and economical. Solar power is a renewable power source which makes it the friend and future of a sustainable living world.
With the successful launch of the Hybrid Solar air conditioner, the company has plans to make its entire AC portfolio compatible with solar energy. With this new outlook, Videocon looks forward to a greener living world for a sustainable ecosystem.
