Videocon d2h recently announced its association with the CSC eGovernance Services India Limited, a SPV under Ministry of Electronics & IT, Government of India for the launch of their CSC services. The ambitious Digital India (DI) initiative makes way for The Common Service Centre (CSC) scheme.
Mr. Ravi Shankar Prasad, Hon’ble Minister of Electronics & IT and Law and Justice of India was the chief guest to inaugurate this service in Varanasi.
In a Public-Private Partnership (PPP), the scheme anticipates to set up more than 100,000 access points with IT support. Government and Private Sector services act as front – end delivery outlets in Common Service Centers (CSCs). The digital entertainment is available through Videocon d2h for the citizens of India. It offers a wide range of active services like smart services including Smart English, Smart Games.
Mr. Saurabh Dhoot, Executive Chairman Videocon d2h opines that he is honoured at their strategic tie up with CSC eGovernance Services India Ltd, Government of India to enable information access to audiences pan India. He believes that this is a milestone and is a matter of great pride for them that in the DTH industry they led the way with Make in India and now are further leading the way with Digital India.
However Dr. Dinesh K Tyagi, CEO CSC eGovernance India Limited expressed that CSC SPV has entered into an agreement with Videocon d2h for bringing Digital DTH services through CSC centres. This service will enable rural India to avail smart services including Smart English, Smart Games etc. and will help overcome the digital divide between rural and urban India.
