XP power has announced the GCS150 series of IT and medically approved 150W single-output AC-DC power supplies that meet the stringent internationally recognised 80 Plus Silver energy efficiency specifications. With active power factor correction (PFC), the units have a typical efficiency of 93% and a no load input power consumption of less than 0.5W. The 80 Plus Silver certification applies to power supplies specified for enterprise computing and data-centre applications.
The GCS150 is available with a +12, +15, +24, +28 or +48VDC single output voltage, an additional 12V fan output is also available. Using convection cooling alone the GCS150 can deliver up to 110W. When using only 7CFM of forced air flow, or by specifying an optional fan model, the full output power of 150 Watts is available. Multiple mechanical formats give the design engineer plenty of choice when incorporating into the end-application. A standard 3 x 5 inch (127mm x 76.2mm) open frame or enclosed cover options are available as convection cooled formats. Top-mounted or end-mounted fan formats are also available.
Operating temperature range of -40C to +70C will suit most environments and there is no derating needed until +50C.
Accommodating both Class I and Class II input construction gives designers the choice of using an earth connection or not. The series meets the Class B limits of both EN55011 and EN55022 for conducted and radiated emissions without the need of additional filtering components.
The GCS150 series complies with the IT equipment safety specifications of UL/EN/IEC 60950-1 and the current 3rd edition medical safety standards of EN 60601-1, ANSI/AAMI ES60601-1 and CSA22.22 No 60601-1. The units provide 2 x MOPP and risk management files are also available on request, says the company.
