Thursday, May 15, 2014: India has reportedly found solar products sourced from the US, China and Taiwan, dumped in the local market. The country has raised the issue by sending a document to the concerned parties.
According to a Bloomberg News report, such dumping has caused “material injury” to domestic manufacturers Indosolar Ltd. (ISLR), Websol Energy System Ltd. (WESL) and Jupiter Solar Power Ltd. The statement, signed by D.P. Mohapatra, a director in India’s Ministry of Commerce & Industry, stated the same. However, an official word could not be ascertained on the same.
According to the ministry, over 20 companies have sold equipments in the country, at a price, which is less that half of the regular price in their home markets. Parties involved have been asked to reply on the same by 16 May. People involved in the antidumping probe have confirmed the same.
