Set to train over 1,000 individuals annually and boost careers in agriculture and mining, Berry Avionics has launched a DGCA-certified drone training hub in Lucknow.
Berry Avionics, a drone training and research firm, announced the launch of a remote pilot training organisation (RPTO) in Lucknow on Wednesday. Certified by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), this facility aims to support individuals pursuing careers in drone operations, as well as professionals and entrepreneurs looking to integrate drone technology into their businesses.
The RPTO mainly targets to bolster local industries, including agriculture, oil and gas, utilities, and mining, all of which require skilled drone operators to enhance their operational efficiency.
With the increasing use of drones in sectors like agriculture, infrastructure, and surveillance, there is a growing demand for certified drone pilots in India. The Lucknow facility is expected to train over 1,000 students, professionals, and entrepreneurs annually.
Uyes Inamdar, Founder of Berry Avionics, emphasised the necessity for trained pilots, stating that the RPTO and its training programmes will help bridge the skills gap in this emerging field.
He further highlighted Uttar Pradesh’s wealth of aspiring talent and identified Lucknow as a strategic hub for AI and machine learning, which will boost enrollment.
With over 15,000 trained students and support from the World Trade Center Pune and Shiv Nadar AIC, Berry Avionics aims to cultivate future drone professionals. The company plans to expand its RPTO network to Greater Noida, Bhopal, Pune, and Bengaluru, increasing training capacity to over 7,500 by the end of 2025.
Furthermore, the RPTO network will support Government of India initiatives such as Namo Drone Didi, which aims to empower women and create livelihoods by providing certified training in modern agriculture.
