Ultraviolette’s F77 MACH 2 is the first Indian electric motorcycle to receive UNECE certification, with the first shipments to Europe already in progress. Additionally, the company plans to present it at EICMA 2024 in Milan this November.
Ultraviolette Automotive, a Bangalore-based electric motorcycle manufacturer, has achieved a significant milestone with its F77 MACH 2, which has become the first Indian electric motorcycle to be certified under the stringent regulations of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE). The certification, known as UNECE L3e, paves the way for the motorcycle’s approval for road use in 40 countries, including those within the European Union.
In preparation for its European launch, Ultraviolette announced an introductory price of €9,990 for the F77 MACH 2. The motorcycle is approved for use by holders of A1 and A2 licenses in Europe and other global markets. Initial shipments of the bike have already begun to Germany and Turkey, with plans for further expansion across Europe.
The certification highlights Ultraviolette’s commitment to meeting high standards of quality, safety, and performance. Narayan Subramaniam, CEO and Co-Founder of Ultraviolette emphasized the importance of this achievement, stating it represents a significant step in reaching a broader global market. Niraj Rajmohan, CTO and Co-Founder, also noted that the certification aligns with their goal of developing competitive motorcycle platforms featuring advanced technology.
The F77 MACH 2’s international journey began with a flag-off ceremony in India, attended by notable government officials, including Hon’ble Shri H.D. Kumaraswamy, Union Minister of Heavy Industries, and Hon’ble Shri M.B. Patil, Minister of Industries and Commerce of Karnataka.
Ultraviolette is also gearing up to showcase the F77 MACH 2 at the EICMA, a major industry event in Milan, Italy, from November 5th to 10th. The company will exhibit at Pavilion 15, Stand M02, and plans to expand to other European markets following the event in 2024.
