January 8, 2015: Two domestic solar companies namely, HBL Power Systems Ltd and Veddis Solar Ltd have been blacklisted by the MNRE (Ministry of New and Renewable Energy), read a statement on the website of the ministry.
The document released on January 5 stated that HBL Power Systems Ltd was placed in the blacklist because “Company came as L1 in the tenders. However the projects were not executed.” As for Veddis Solar, the MNRE statement read that the “Company has not executed to the placed work orders.”
The state nodal agencies agencies informed the MNRE about the functions of the company.
Speaking to PV Magazine, Turan Singh, CEO of Veddis Solars said that the a project in Uttar Pradesh caused blacklisting of the firm. The company was awarded a tender in the state jointly with two other companies. As per him, the two other companies are Jaiswal Batteries and Easy Photovoltaic. He mentioned that the other two parties were given an extension. He also said that the company was put on the blacklist due to a bit of delay. He said that the government could have penalised them instead of blacklisting.
