- THDCIL to develop a 2000 MW Solar Park in Uttar Pradesh
THDC India Limited (THDCIL) has announced a tender for an 11 MW (AC) floating solar PV (FSPV) plant, which will be established on the raw water reservoir of the Khurja Super Thermal Power Plant.
The company has initiated this tender for bidders and urged them to submit an Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) of INR 63.56 lacs (including GST). This project may be completed within nine months from the effective date of the contract.
THDCIL has also planned to enhance its power generation capacity, aiming to add 2764 MW by 2024-25. This includes the expected commissioning of three ongoing power projects: Tehri Pumped Storage Plant (1000 MW), Vishnugad HEP (444 MW), and Khurja STPP (1320 MW).
Besides that, THDCIL has also shared plans to develop a 2000 MW Solar Park in Uttar Pradesh through a joint venture with Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA) under the name TUSCO Limited.
Furthermore, the company is actively working on its goal to create 10,000 MW of Renewable Energy parks in Rajasthan in collaboration with Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation Limited, operating under the name TREDCO Limited.
This holistic approach encompasses various projects in Karnataka, encompassing ground-mounted, floating solar, and hybrid ventures, focusing on pumped storage projects. These endeavors are set to add 3270 MW to India’s renewable energy capacity.
