April 04, 2015: Ravi Shankar Prasad, Union Minister for Communications and IT, undraped a testing lab for silicon chips at the software technology park in Bengaluru to encourage the flourishing Indian semiconductor industry.
Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) and the Karnataka government have jointly developed this at a cost of Rs 140 million. The Semiconductor Measurement Analysis and Reliability Test (SMART) Lab is equipped to test, measure factors and conduct failure analysis of chips.
“The lab will enable semiconductor firms to test chips and reduce the product design cycle and operational costs radically,” said Prasad, as reported by Zee News.
