Tata Power said that its wholly-owned subsidiary, TP Saurya, has received the Letter of Intent from Maharashtra State Power Generation Corporation for setting up a 250 megawatt (MW) solar power plant.The plant will be situated at the Dondaicha Solar Park in Dhule District of Maharashtra and Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company has conveyed consent to purchase power generated from the plant.
Praveer Sinha, chief executive officer and managing director, Tata Power said that the project will further promote the share of renewable power in the overall energy mix in Maharashtra. According to the company, the project was awarded through a tariff-based competitive bidding followed by e-reverse auction and will be commissioned within 15 months from the date of power purchase agreement execution.
