The initiative seeks to cultivate eco-conscious behaviour among approximately 4,000 regional employees.
Tata Power has launched a program in Delhi NCR to motivate its employees to switch to electric vehicles (EVs). This step is part of its dedication to enhancing air quality. This initiative aligns with the ‘Sustainable is Attainable’ campaign, focusing on instilling a mindset of environmentally responsible habits among its nearly 4,000 employees in the area.
To encourage the adoption of EVs, employees are offered incentives, including complimentary charging at certain office sites and collaborations with Tata Motors for special pricing, priority delivery, and financing for popular EV models. This effort is key to Tata Power’s wider strategy to encourage sustainable living.
Himal Tewari, CHRO, Chief – CSR & Sustainability at Tata Power, explained that their goal is to drive the employees towards e-mobility and advocate for a sustainable way of life by minimizing individual carbon emissions. They are fostering a culture of ecological responsibility at Tata Power, transforming each employee into a ‘Climate Action Hero’ through these initiatives. They also aim for this action to enhance the Air Quality Index (AQI) in Delhi NCR, a city known for its high vehicular density.
Tata Power’s existing EV charging infrastructure includes over 250 e-Bus charging stations and more than 500 public and semi-public charging points throughout Delhi NCR.
