The Government of Taiwan has put on display 86 products in the fields of smart information and communication technology, smart healthcare, internet of things (IoT) solutions, smart-life devices industries at the third Smart Cities India-2017 Expo, an international exhibition organised by the Government of India at Pragati Maidan.
Deputy Executive Director of Strategic Marketing Department of the Taiwan External Trade Development Council Scott Yang said when the expo was announced in New Delhi from May 10 to 12, it elicited immediate participation from Taiwan Excellence—a brand that has been boasting an array of stellar smart ICT solutions around the world for years.
He said that Taiwan Telematics Industry Association has already signed an MoU with the Automotive Component Manufacturers Association of India aimed at strengthening bilateral industrial cooperation and exchanges. He said Taiwan had also signed agreement to develop smart cities in Tamil Nadu.
Taiwan also has an integrated e-gate system or electronic immigration channel system solution, trial operations for which began in 2012 at major airports in Taiwan.
Due to the system, the average time needed to clear immigration is 12 seconds, representing a massive improvement and greatly enhancing the efficiency of personnel allocation. It also has advance system of garbage recycling, paper manufacturing from concrete and better environment system.
