India’s T-Hub and Canada’s Comminitech have selected technology start-ups to expand business in India by extending the required resource and network support
Hyderabad-based start-up engine, T-Hub has partnered with Communitech, a Canadian innovation hub to select around nine Canada-based tech start-ups to help expand their businesses in India. The move is a part of the Global Bridge: Canada-India programme that aims to offer market access and opportunities to set up the start-ups of Canada in India.
Selected start-ups
T-Hub has selected the start-ups that focus on B2B enterprise solutions, technologies for sustainable infrastructure, healthcare and biotechnology. This start-up selection was based on technology, domain knowledge and the feasibility of their solutions in the Indian scenario.
Sinitic, Voltera, 2G Robotics, Ulula, Push, Site2Site, Szio+ Inc, Sitata and o2 Canada are the Canada-based start-ups that have been selected for the Global Bridge: Canada-India programme.
Canada-India programme
Launched this year in July, the Canada-India programme is of 3 months duration during which the selected start-ups will be trained and supported in formulating and executing their market strategies in India. They will be provided with the resources required to set up their businesses and local production facilities in the country. T-hub will provide the start-ups with business networks by connecting them with potential clients, Proof of Concept (PoC) and revenue streams.
Srinivas Kollipara, CEO, T-Hub, said that T-Hub’s partnership with the start-ups is aimed at establishing India as the key market. The Canadian Digital Media Network (CDMN) has offered a grant of $4000 for each of the startups for the Canada-India programme.
Expressing delight over the selection of the start-ups, Lisa Cashmore, Head, Advanced Programs and International Strategy, Communitech, said that the programme would help boost the relations of the two countries by supporting the entrepreneurial talent.
