Saturday, May 03, 2014: After successfully installing over 1,500 solar rooftop projects across the length and breadth of India, Swelect Energy Systems (SWEES) has now commissioned a new 15MW solar energy park near Vellakoil in Karur district of Tamil Nadu. The modular energy park entails an investment of Rs 1,060 million.
Swelect, a company known to manufacture solar photovoltaic modules and converters owns 12MW of the plant. Meanwhile, the remaining 3MW capacity is owned by two other companies, namely Yajur Energy Solutions and Amex Alloys. One of the very few modular energy parks to grace the country, the park will consist of 5 X 33 bays that would eventually feed three energy generating systems. “On an average 75,000 units of power being is generated, with 5,000 lesser units being produced during a very cloudy day.” R Chellappan, managing director, Swelect was quoted as saying. “Initially set up on 75 acres, the company would expand it on the 75 acres adjacent owned by it depending on requirements.” he added.
Swelect offers Green Energy Solutions like solar power systems, wind energy generation and LED lighting systems. The company offers specialised and standardised solar products to conserve energy under the Renewable Energy Program combined with energy efficient LED lighting solutions for a wide range of applications.
