Wednesday, November 11, 2014: Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) has planned to set up a new incubation facility in Patna to serve the needs of IT industry with an investment of Rs 100 million. This facility will come into action within 18 months and would also invite direct and indirect employment in the region. IT and Communication Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad has laid the foundation of the facility on Monday.
STPI, an association under Department of Electronics & Information Technology will establish a new 8,000 sq. ft facility with an investment of Rs 100 million to meet the needs of start-up companies and young entrepreneurs.
The facility would also cater as a resource centre for IT/ITes exporting units by providing infrastructural facilities like high-speed data communication along with the uninterrupted data connectivity and other requirements for development and export of software and services.
The facility would also be used to enhance indigenous production of IT hardware and software for exports and also to support software product startups. The Patna facility of STPI was set-up in 2008 at 11,500 sq ft of hi-tech built up space.
