Bengaluru-based solar PV module manufacturer, Shan Solar Pvt. Ltd has announced the launch of its “Build Your Own System” concept, which the company expects will be a game changer of sorts in promoting distributed generation and empower masses to produce personal power. Also the company indicated that it is exploring various financing options through strategic tie-up with banks, FI’s and NBFC’s.
It is probably for the first time in the Indian solar industry history that “Build Your Own System” concept is being introduced. This radically new idea stems from SHAN’s belief that solar offerings should never have product orientation. More importantly customised solar solution is critical to get optimum results, thereby justifying the investment being made. This model revolves around the expertise of application engineers with company directly taking the responsibility of design, installation and maintenance.
Commenting on “Build Your Own System”, Sury Singapur, chairman and managing director, Shan Solar, said, “Mapping customers’ actual requirements in terms of design and feasibility will go a long way in building robust solar solutions for a variety of applications. With solar power technology becoming more relevant now than ever before, we are convinced that our concept of “Build Your Own System” will empower masses to embrace solar power as the preferred choice of energy. This, besides enabling them to not only tide over acute power shortage but also insulate against rising electricity cost.”
Further, he pointed out, the new policy initiatives of Tamil Nadu and Kerala that encourages roof top solutions will help accelerate distributed power generation model envisioned and “Build Your Own System” could be the vehicle to embark on this journey. Also he added with Solar Purchase Obligation (SPO) being made mandatory in Tamil Nadu, we believe that our concept will encourage a new group of investors to take advantage of the new policy initiatives.
