Wednesday, January 08, 2014: Owing to both national and state-wide PV incentive programs, there are forecasts that suggest that solar installations are expected to fall in 2014 as well. India has planned to install 750MW of PV capacity. “It’s worst showing since 2011, as critical statewide policies fail to live up to their promise,” stated market researcher, Bridge to India.
In 2013, India has installed 905MW PV capacity, which is 9 per cent lower than the performance data of 2012. In 2013, it was recorded as 982MW.
Last year, the projects took a lot of time and were dragged across the finish line. Over the final nine months of the year, India averaged just 166MW of quarterly additions, as the pipeline of Phase 1, reported RechargeNews.
