SECI’s RfS seeks competitive bids from Green Ammonia Producers for the National Green Hydrogen Mission’s SIGHT Programme.
The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has issued a Request for Selection (RfS) to select Green Ammonia Producers. This initiative is part of the Strategic Interventions for Green Hydrogen Transition (SIGHT) Programme under the National Green Hydrogen Mission (NGHM), which is led by the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE).
The selection will be made through a competitive bidding process, with costs under Mode 2A being a key factor. The e-bidding process will determine suppliers for 5.39 lakh Metric Tonnes (MT)/annum of Green Ammonia, with subsequent e-reverse Auctions. The produced Green Ammonia will then be supplied to fertiliser companies.
The comprehensive RfS document is available on the official websites of Electronic Tender Systems and SECI. SECI’s official website requests interested bidders visit these sites for details.
A pre-bid meeting is scheduled for June 28th, 2024, at 2:30 PM IST, with bid submissions due by July 29th, 2024, at 6:00 PM IST. Bidders have been urged to monitor the mentioned websites for any updates or clarifications regarding the RfS documents, as no separate notifications will be provided.
Previously, MNRE released Scheme Guidelines for SIGHT Programme—Component II: Incentive for Procurement of Green Ammonia Production (Mode2A) under NGHM, with SECI designated as the implementing agency.
The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has allotted 4.12 lakh MT/annum of Green Hydrogen production capacity and 1.5 GW/annum of Electrolyser manufacturing capacity within the SIGHT Programme framework.
The National Green Hydrogen Mission was launched on January 4, 2023. It allocates Rs. 19,744 crores until FY 2029-30 and aligns with India’s self-sufficiency goal via clean energy, inspiring a global clean energy transition. The mission aims for substantial decarbonisation and decrease reliance on fossil fuel imports, positioning India as a leader in Green Hydrogen technology and the market.
