Aiming to expand its market presence and achieve 60% of sales, Sokudo Electric India plans to open 100 flagship stores by December 2024, starting with 20 in Delhi, UP, and Maharashtra.
Two-wheeler EV manufacturer Sokudo Electric India recently announced its plans to establish 100 new stores nationwide by the end of 2024. The goal is to reach eco-conscious customers in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Maharashtra and enhance access to affordable electric scooters.
The company expects these new stores to account for 60% of its sales by year-end and aims to capture 5% of India’s $681.3 million electric two-wheeler market.
Sokudo aims to start this venture by opening 20 stores in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Maharashtra within six months. Each store will be approximately 139.35 square metres (around 1,500 sq. ft.), with some over 185.81 square metres (2,000 sq. ft.) serving as exclusive showrooms. Additionally, Anubhuti Electric will manage the openings.
According to the company, the locations were chosen with strong demand for electric vehicles. The stores will display Sokudo’s scooters and parts like wiring, harnesses, and controllers, besides offering riding accessories, including Sokudo Electric’s newly released ISI-certified helmets.
Prashant Vashishtha, CMD of Sokudo Electric India, mentioned that the new flagship stores are part of a long-term expansion strategy to boost their market presence. He noted that this move would enable the company to make high-quality electric scooters more affordable for consumers.
