Monday, March 03, 2014: Socomec has launched company’s first India-made UPS, the Delphys MP Elite, from its plant in Gurgaon. The Delphys MP Elite caters to current trends in the markets and ensures high quality energy, and power protection to critical applications. The product range starts from 80 to 200 kVA.
The key features of Delphys MP Elite include neutral-free IGBT rectifier with sinusoidal absorption, transformer base UPS, several new UPS architecture, and high output performances.
According to a CRN report, Olivier Tremouille, managing director, Socomec said, “India is an important and strategic market and we count on it to increase our market share in the coming years. We have followed the developments in the critical power business in India. There is a growing demand in industrial sector and it requires more technologically advanced products and dedicated service. Delphys MP Elite is already an industrial proven product. In order to meet the local requirements we planned to produce it locally. This is an initial step and we will consider the feasibilities to produce other products in India.”
According to the company, it has invested $5.13 million in India so far, and has a strategy to target segments like manufacturing, building and construction, infrastructure, renewable energy and OEM. As per reports, manufacturing, telecommunications, IT and ITES contribute for 34 per cent of the total UPS market revenue.
The Gurgaon facility of the company has the capacity to produce 500 units annually, and currently it is producing energy efficiency, power control and safety equipments. Furthermore, with localised approach and UPS manufactured in its Gurgaon facility, the company is targeting revenue of Rs 4 billion by 2016.
