A group of small and medium-sized solar module manufacturers have formed a new industry association by the name North India Module Manufacturer Association (NIMMA) in a bid to voice their concerns.
According to ET Energyworld, the industry body said in a statement it will act as an umbrella association for solar module manufacturers and will work towards maintaining healthy business environment by providing necessary support to its members. Also, the body will assist members in promoting and improving the product and manufacturing standards, joint marketing strategies and will take up the concerns of its members with the concerned authorities.
Manish Gupta, President, NIMMA said that currently, they have 25 members representing solar modules manufacturing capacity of around 1,000 MW. NIMMA membership is open to existing and prospective solar module manufacturers of North India.
NIMMA will work with government authorities and other national and international solar organizations apart from organizing meetings, seminars and workshops to exchange views among member companies, the statement said.
