Monday, 05 August, 2013: Minister for Communications and IT (MCIT), Kapil Sibal (who also heads the Ministry of Law and Justice), recently led a delegation to Israel to market investment opportunities in the Electronics System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) domain in India.
The delegation met Israel’s minister of Finance and minister of Communications to discuss setting up a joint innovation fund by India and Israel, with contributions of US$ 1.5 million from each side. Also discussed were plans for establishing a JWG (Joint Working Group) to work out details and feasibility of jointly establishing an Institute for Future Technologies.
An Indo-Israeli seminar was organised, in which over 100 IT entrepreneurs of Israeli IT companies participated and discussed how Israeli innovation and Indian industry could come together by fostering integration and investment.
