Wednesday, October 08, 2014: Shigechika Motoyama has been appointed as the managing director at Renesas Electronics Corporation (formerly known as NEC Electronics Corporation). Shigechika (Shige) Motoyama has succeeded Hideyuki (Jake) Shimada, who has now been sent to Japan to capture a new role at Hitachi Ltd.
Shigechika Motoyama joined the company in 1988. Initially he was responsible for the sales and marketing of Japanese customer’s accounts. Later he was posted to the United Kingdom in 2002, where he continued to look after sales and marketing projects while supporting the Japanese OEM accounts in European countries.
In 2009, Shinge returned to Japan and was promoted as senior sales manager looking after the Japanese customers. Now, as the Managing Director, Shinge will look after the Renesas’ sales and marketing operations in South East Asia, India and Oceania.
While taking over the new position, Shinge said “Everything today is smart. All the devices, cars and appliances around us are becoming more efficient, processing faster and delivering more features. Electronics today have enhanced the way we experience the world. It is the core of what we do.” He further promised to deliver expertise solutions which exceed expectations and support customers with faster pace to market.
