According to a report by Businesswire, Seres, a subsidiary of Chongqing Sokon Industrial Group has entered into a partnership with BYD Microelectronics to develop new energy vehicle power electronics, advancing the design and development of products like high-power motor controllers, vehicle controllers, network controllers and high-voltage power distribution boxes. The companies also claim that the partnership will help to improve operational efficiency, reduce costs and help both of them to drive their respective market expansion strategies
BYD Microelectronics produces insulated-gate bipolar transistors ( IGBTs) modules, SiC modules and wafers, automotive current sensors, microcontroller unit (MCUs), intelligent power management (IPMs). Seres produces battery systems, electric drive units and range extender systems. It has recently built an Industrial Standard 4.0 and mass production-ready factory in Chongqing, China.The company says its electric powertrain and EV battery pack products will be available to the global market soon.
