Sunday, March 29, 2014: A new request for solicitations (RFS) has been released by the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) for a total of 50 MW solar power capacity from rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) installations. The RFS is lined in two phases of 40 MW and 10 MW. This solar capacity will be spread across 21 states, and it is the fourth RFS by the corporation.
According to a SolarServer report, the first 40 MW of the solar power capacity will be developed as per the bidders’ citation of the project cost that is needed for each state. The SECI will compensate for the 30 per cent of the project costing by way of a subsidy grant, to winning bidders.
The solar capacity will be spread across 21 states and it will be divided in 40 cities in India. It is to be noted that bidders are only allowed to bid for half of the total solar capacity, in each state. While, the limit for bids for the first phase is Rs 90 per watt.
The second 10 MW of the solar power capacity will be developed as per the bidders’ citation of the each year price, for the solar power project. The citation will be for 25 years and will start from the date of commissioning of the plant. For this phase, SECI will compensate a subsidy grant of Rs 270 million per MW.
While, the limit for bids will be Rs 6.75 per KWh for the first three years; then Rs 6.00 per KWh for rest of the time span. Similar to the first phase, this phase will only also allow bidders to bid for half of the total solar capacity, in each state. According to RESolve Energy Consultants blog, this is SECI’s fourth solicitation for the solar rooftop PV installations.
