Thursday, October 17, 2013: Schneider Electric , a global specialist in energy management, and M&M, a leading provider of software services and products for the automation industry, signed a Research & Development partnership agreement as part of Schneider Electric’s Collaborative Automation Partner Program. This agreement aims at providing Schneider Electric with core components and R&D services for device integration. Device integration brings strong value to customers to increase efficiency of their overall industrial processes from development, integration, optimization to maintenance and service.
“Many years ago Schneider Electric selected the FDT/DTM technology to answer these challenges and manage as well as maintain devices along the whole life cycle. After cooperation and integration of software components from M&M into Schneider Electric’s FDT-enabled tool platforms as Unity, SoMachine and SoMove, we enter with this official R&D partnership in a new phase. The integration of M&M’s core FDT2™ components enables us to implement the new FDT2 standard defined by the FDT Group,” said Dominique Leduc, Device Life Cycle Marketing Manager, Industry Business, Schneider Electric.
Loic Regnier, Partnership director at Schneider Electric added, “We are building this partnership on the shared values of innovation, competency and quality, and I am confident that the partnership of Schneider Electric’s global expertise in energy management and process automation, coupled with M&M as provider of software services and products for the automation industry will be a winning combination.”
Christian Gnädig, Sales Manager International at M&M continues “Schneider Electric customers will strongly benefit from M&M as competent service provider for all matters concerning software products in the industrial automation. We mainly focus on solutions for Human Machine Interfaces (HMI), device integration, engineering systems and web applications and this partnership will reinforce our reputation as a reliable partner for many renowned customers worldwide”
