Partnering to ensure seamless coverage in even the most remote locations utilising 3GPP Rel.17 standard, Eseye and Sateliot are set to revolutionise global IoT connectivity.
On Wednesday, IoT solutions provider Eseye announced its partnership with Sateliot to deliver global connectivity, especially in regions lacking cellular coverage from traditional mobile operators.
The partnership is set to leverage Sateliot’s newly introduced 3GPP Release 17 (Rel.17) standard, which will enable Eseye’s multi-RAT connectivity to non-terrestrial networks (NTN) using a single SIM solution.
It will provide access to satellite-based networks, allowing devices to connect even when there is no terrestrial cellular coverage, thus ensuring continuous and reliable connectivity across remote locations.
Commenting on the deal, Adam Hayes, Chief Operating Officer at Eseye, stated, “Customers want their devices to connect and by working with Sateliot we can extend coverage beyond the current cellular offer. Together, we are paving the way for seamless, global connectivity that takes Eseye’s already highly resilient network to new heights to enable the interconnected world of tomorrow.”
Sateliot claims to be the world’s first LEO 5G/NB-IoT satellite constellation, offering global coverage using advanced LPWAN satellite technology. Its satellites, powered by the Rel.17 protocol, extend cellular networks to remote areas, ensuring uninterrupted IoT services.
Already present in more than 50 countries, the partnership with Eseye will expand its reach, offering comprehensive IoT connectivity solutions to various industries worldwide.
Gianluca Redolfi, Sateliot’s Chief Commercial Officer, commented, “While many competitors face challenges like landing rights or sales, Sateliot stands out because we started working on the standard early, were the first to support it, and have gained strong backing from the industry.”
Eseye already provides extensive network access through partnerships with over 700 operators across 190 countries. Its multi-RAT capabilities enhance the resilience and flexibility of IoT connectivity, supporting various radio access technologies like LTE and eMTC. Eseye’s solutions are ideal for urban and industrial applications, including smart grids, electric vehicle (EV) charging, manufacturing, and smart cities.
