Samsung is all set to boost sales with its all-in-one washing machine range in India and expects about a 10 per cent growth by year-end
South Korean electronics major, Samsung is eyeing to raise its current 33 per cent market share in the washing machines segment in India. The company is betting on its new range of automatic washing machines to achieve its target. Maneesh Sharma, Deputy General Manager, Consumer Electronics Business, Samsung India has informed that around 65 lakh washing machines will be sold by the year-end, thereby increasing its growth by 10 per cent.
Samsung expects to maintain the momentum of its growth in the automatic washing machines market in the future.
New products
Samsung has introduced its new products like front loading and top loading washing machines to increase sales by more than 5 per cent. The electronics major is eyeing the festive season to yield better results. The top loading washing machine comes with ActivWash, energy efficient digital inverter motor, which reduces around 40 per cent energy consumption. It also claims to have reduced noise and vibration, when on work.
Samsung has equipped its All-in-one range with Direct Drive Technology, with no belt and pulley mechanism for a longer lasting period. The energy efficient digital inverter motor is also equipped with Stainless Steel Pulsator, thereby providing complete hygiene. The new washing machines are said to be corrosion resistant.
Samsung has offered a 3-year warranty period and kept the washing machines in Rs. 24,000-50,000 price range.
The electronics giant is expected to witness an average of 30per cent growth in the automatic washing machine segment. The Deputy General Manager further said that although the penetration level of washing machines is low, it provides an opportunity for growth in the Tier-II and Tier-III cities.
