Friday, October 31, 2014: A new company in sustainable electronics, Sage Sustainable Electronics, is all set to make an investment of more than $2.5 million to inaugurate its head office and processing centre in Columbus, Ohio. This new move will create around 50 tech jobs, which will include personnel for the headquarters and the production unit.
The company will focus on systems and application development, equipment production and other sectors and the 26,000-square-foot facility at 2801 Charter Street in Columbus will contain the new expansion. This new facility will start functioning from January 2015 and hiring will begin from 2014-end as the new positions need to be filled up by 2017. As reported by Area Development, CFO of Sage Sustainable Electronics, Michael Keegan, said that the company aims to target used electronics segment by providing facilities for repairing and distribution to new users.
The company is quite hopeful about the location of Columbus for its headquarters and operating facility. Keegan said most of the big companies are located in this area only which are huge investors in the tech field and they are also planning to establish new relationships with several businesses of small and medium sizes. They are also hopeful to get high quality workforce in this area. Columbus Mayor Michael B. Coleman expressed pleasure over the latest development as the company has a nice business model and they impact largely on the sustainability factor of the technology world.
