As per a report by Reuters, Renesas Electronics Corp said it is in talks with Dialog Semiconductor GmbH about a potential acquisition that put the value Apple Inc supplier at around $6 billion. The report added that Renesas in a statement through the Tokyo Stock Exchange said it was in talks to buy Dialog for 67.50 euros a share. The regulations meant it would have to disclose any intention to purchase by seventh March.
All-cash offer of about 4.9 billion euros
As per a report by Bloomberg, Dialog accepted the all-cash offer of about 4.9 billion euros ($5.9 billion), at 67.50 euros per share, the companies said in statements Monday. It added that the offer price is a 20 per cent premium to Dialog’s Friday close of 56.12 euros
The report added that Jalal Bagherli, chief executive officer of Dialog, said in a call with investors that there are multiple interested parties in the acquisition of Dialog. Renesas was chosen for its culture, reputation, technology and market reach.
